Join us for a winter hike at the Trustees of Reservations Ravenswood Park, where we will follow winding trails on the east side of the park through varied terrain, while enjoying the stark beauty of the winter landscape all around us.

At the start, our route will take us along narrow rugged trails that go deep into the woods surrounded by majestic pines, and will then emerge onto broad carriage roads, where we will see a glimpse of the site where a famous local hermit once lived. We will then tuck back into the woods to connect over to the Ledge Hill Trail to enjoy magnificent views out to Eastern Point, and end with an easy return along the Boulder Field Trail.

See a map of the hike route in GaiaGPS HERE

This is a moderate hike overall, with many ups and downs, and plenty of rocks and roots underfoot – with the possibility of snow and ice as well. Total distance is about 3.5 miles, and the estimated time is 2 hours.

You may also view the Trustees of Reservations Ravenswood trail map HERE.

Meeting spot:

We will meet at the Ravenswood Park main entrance at 481 Western Avenue (Route 127) in Gloucester.  See the Google map location HERE.

Please arrive early (we recommend planning to arrive between 9:50 and 9:55 am in order to be ready for the group's 10 am departure).  The hike will depart promptly at 10 am.
