CATS "Short Hike"- The Monoliths

Join us for a "Short Hike" at the Trustees of Reservations "Monoliths" property in Manchester-by-the-Sea!

This hike will take us along wooded trails that will include stops at the large glacial boulders (known as "Big Rock" and "Little Rock") on the property.  The route is easy to moderate, with rocks, roots, uneven footing, and some hills.  The total distance is 2.3 miles.  We will plan to take about an hour and a half, at a comfortable and leisurely pace.

Meeting spot:

We will meet at the Monoliths parking area on School Street in Manchester, just south of the Essex town line.  

From Rt. 128 (exit 15), take School St. north for 0.5 mi, and the entrance will be on the right.  See meeting location in Google maps HERE.  (Note that Google Maps shows this location address as 398 Southern Ave. in Essex, even though it is technically just over the Manchester line where Southern Avenue becomes School St.).

Please plan to arrive by 9:45 for check-in.  The hike will depart promptly at 10 am.
