Join Cape Ann Trail Stewards for a Trail Work Event at Poles Hill in Gloucester. As many of you are aware, the Poles Hill area was devastated by wildfires this summer, with over 12 acres having been burned. As this area begins to regenerate, we have a unique opportunity to clean out trash that has been exposed within the burned areas, which is more visible and accessible while not currently being covered by dense vegetation.
We will provide Gloucester DPW bags for any trash collected. Bring work gloves, and we recommend protection from ticks, such as repellent and/ or permethrin-treated clothing. CATS will provide hand tools/ clippers for light brush trimming, but feel free to bring your own tools if desired. The work will last for approximately 1-2 hours. Meeting Spot: We will meet at the entrance off of Riverview Rd. in Gloucester. Park on Riverview Rd.-- please be courteous of the neighbors, and take care not to block any driveways.
