**REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT OPENS JUNE 13TH**
Join the Sunday morning hiking group on this ~4 mile hike through the Norton Memorial Forest and along the JerryMannder Trail.
This hike starts and ends at the trailhead at the end of Squam Rd, Rockport (the eastern terminus of the Squam Path, a/k/a the Parishioners' Walk). The hike cuts through the Norton Forest and the heart of the island's interior, with an amazing mix of terrain along the way – wide easy “roads” through deciduous woods; soft paths through the majestic Norton pines; and the narrow, rugged JerryMannder trail through deep mixed forest (named for Noel Mann's brother Jerry, who is said to have first blazed it).
Lots to see along the way, too – the Anne Natti memorial stone; granite mansions on upper Dennison St., and of course, the iconic Whale’s Jaw. If we're lucky, Miss Gulch's bicycle will still greet us as we head out and return.
If you've registered for a Sunday morning hike recently, please try and give others an opportunity to join the walk. We'll send out multiple reminders with registration opportunities. Rain date will be scheduled for the following non-holiday Sunday (in this case, July 11, as July 4 is a holiday). An email will go out Sunday morning by 8AM prior to the walk if it is cancelled due to rain.
Registration is limited, please register early and if you cannot make it, let us know so we can add those on the wait list. Group size has been restricted to 20.
